Royal reward for North West Ambulance Service boss

THE head of the North West Ambulance Service has received a Queens Ambulance Medal at Buckingham Palace.

Earlier this year Peter Mulcahy was shortlisted for the prestigious medal which is awarded to individuals who have shown exemplary dedication to their role, and demonstrated outstanding ability, merit and conduct to their vocation.

Mr Mulcahy was just one of five people to have been nominated across the whole of the UK and Northern Ireland.

He said: “It was a fantastic experience and one I never dreamed of happening.

“I am so proud that after 34 years’ service I have received such an award – and going to Buckingham Palace was an unexpected bonus.

“I consider it an honour, not only on a personal level, but also for North West Ambulance Service.

“It’s recognition for my profession.

“As well as thanking the wider North West Ambulance Service team, I would also specifically like to thank my teams in Cumbria and Lancashire for their support.”

No doupt this is for efficiency moves I m diabetic and require eye examinations, which I can't have because I dont qualify, no public transort, can't drive after tests. Also for proposed moving the PTS Service to the Private Sector! How long did he spend 'On the Road'? I only managed 25 years.

The award is not a Royal one,but Political. Its always the Chiefs but never the Idians who gain them.
This man has had sufficient reward for his efforts which is reflected in his pay packet.
Its about time those at the sharp end were rewarded.
