Plan for 37 Blackburn homes given green light
11:00pm Friday 26th October 2012 in News
COUNCILLORS have backed plans to build 37 homes on the site of a burnt-out Blackburn textile mill after insisting the developers give full details of exactly how the buildings will look.
Giving outline permission for the proposal to provide 20 flats for disabled and vulnerable people and 17 family houses, the borough planning and highways committee put a condition on the approval that final designs must be suitable for the surroundings.
Two letters of objection to the plan were received focusing on the actual design of the new properties.
Meadowhead ward councillor Carl Nuttall said he was happy with Blackburn with Darwen’s planning and highways committee giving the plan the green light in view of the requirement for developers of the scheme for Moorgate Mill to provide further details.
