Lawyer’s plea to Lancashire Jimmy Savile sex victims
THE President of the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers is calling for Jimmy Saville’s alleged victims to come forward.
Solicitor Peter Garsden, a senior partner of Abney Garsden McDonald Solicitors, is helping an alleged victim of the former BBC DJ to seek damages and is now offering his support to other victims.
The call comes after Lancashire police revealed they had received two complaints.
One of the allegations dates back to the 1960s and involves a woman who now lives in Chorley.
A second from the 1980s involves a woman who now lives in Rossendale.
Stockport-based Mr Garsden said: “Many people are now coming forward in the North West to make complaints.
Jimmy Savile, who used to live and work in Manchester, was idolised by many young girls.
“The growing number of claims is alarming and victims who suffered such abuse should at least tell someone in authority what has been going on.”

The Police,the BBC are well into the investigations,so why does this man Garsden, take up newspaper space urging alleged victims to come foreward ?
Money and nothing else. These people don't care for the victims or the crime committed,only the cheque they can expect at the end of the day.

So easy to accuse someone when they are dead! I would have more sympathy if they had come forward 40 years ago not now when Jim cant defend himself !How can you believe these people when it is only their word against the one person who could answer the question is dead! In one case a police investigation in London was mysteriously dropped.
In another case, the manager of a childrens home in Leeds who reported Saville was visited by some senior managers and told - it's your word against his and no-one will believe you.
In another case, a young girl with a broken spine in Stoke Mandeville hospital reported Saville's abuse. She was told - you do realise that Saville's fundrising is paying for your treatment? Best keep quiet.
With attitudes like this widespread in society 20+ years ago (and clearly still around) is it any wonder that many victims just did not dare to come forward at the time?

It's time to forgive and forget. It happened, and that doesn't mean It's right, but the guy is dead and he raised millions for good causes.
Now lets sweep it under the carpet and let it rest.
