Award recognises community work in Lancashire

A SPECIAL award is being introduced to highlight multi-agency operations that solve problems in the community.

The Problem Oriented Partnership Community Award is being launched by Lancashire Police Authority (LPA), to mark successful joint projects which have led to measurable reductions in crime, disorder or antisocial behaviour in the county.

LPA chairman Bruce Jassi said: “This well-deserved award will recognise team efforts which have improved the quality of life for local people. It will give the Authority the opportunity to offer formal recognition for innovative solutions to problems that can otherwise have a negative impact on the whole community.”

It will be presented for the first time on November 7.
