A MAN attacked his partner after a cider drinking session.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Frank Thomas grabbed his partner by the throat after accusing her of sleeping around.
The court was told the couple were still together and that Thomas had not touched a drink since the incident in January.
Thomas, 24, of Infirmary Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting Chantelle Turner.
He was sent-enced to 30 days in prison suspended for 12 months with a condition he completes an alcohol treatment programme.
Michael Blacklidge, defending, said Thomas had already served a period in custody after being charged with another offence, later dropped, while on bail.
"This incident occurred when both parties had been drinking but they are still together and my client has not had a drink since."
