RELATIONS cooled between a Blackburn couple after they had both been drinking Frosty Jack Cider at home, a court was told.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Frank Thomas began questioning his partner about his view that she was seeing other men.
Thomas lashed out, pushing Chantelle Turner to the floor twice.
He later pushed her against the bedroom wall by grabbing her round the throat but said he did not hold her so tightly that she could not breathe.
Thomas, 24, of Infirmary Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assault.
He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
