A BLACKBURN teenager will represent the country at a conference in South Korea.

Emily Clarke, 17, of Feniscowles, was selected to attend the GFS (Girls Friendly Society) Platform world conference in Asia, in August.

St Wilfrid's High School Technology College pupil Emily has been a member of GFS Platform, an inter-national Anglican organis-ation set up to help young women develop potential and confidence, since she was six.

After an interview in London she was chosen over six other applicants for as a delegate at the annual two-week event.

Emily, who is studying for four A levels, said: "I was really pleased.

"I've never been anywhere like Korea so I can't wait."

She is planning a series of fundraisiers with the help of St Aidan's Church to raise spending money. Flights are paid by GFS.

"I need to raise between £500 and £1,000, and am planning a raffle, coffee morning and a Greek night," she said.
