Psychiatric report on Blackburn bomb hoaxer

A BLACKBURN man who has admitted making a hoax bomb threat to Stansted Airport has has his case adjourned for a second psychiatric report.

Paul Jackson, of Infirmary Street, was arrested after a call was made to police suggesting a van containing a bomb was on its way to the airport.

Counter-terrorism officers raided two houses in Infirmary Street and spent several hours searching the properties.

Paranoid schizophrenic Jackson, 40, has admitted making a false communication.

Judge Graham Knowles granted a one month adjournment for a second psychiatric report at Preston Crown Court yesterday.

Police said patrols were stepped up at the airport as a result of the hoax call.

Jackson was remanded in custody for sentencing on August 31.
