Haslingden man stole iPod from vehicle

A CAR valeter working at a Haslingden garage stole an iPod while working on a customer's vehicle, a court was told.

Burnley magistrates heard how Anthony Herdman, 18, helped himself to the £200 Apple iPod Touch from the glove compartment. Herdman owned up after victim Jennifer Hodgkinson went back to the premises with her husband and threatened to call the police.

Herdman, of Hart Street, Burnley, admitted theft on July 8. He was fined £70, with £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. The bench told him his actions had been silly.
