12:27pm Thursday 5th July 2012 in Blackburn
A HIT and run driver is being hunted by police after a motorcyclist was seriously injured in an accident in Blackburn.
The incident took place around 6.40am at the Whitebirk roundabout on when the motorcyclist was travelling towards Burnley Road.
He had swerved to avoid a collision with a black car causing him to strike the kerb and come off his bike.
He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital and was treated for broken ribs, a broken collar bone and dislocated shoulder.
The driver of the car briefly stopped at the scene but failed to provide their details and police are urging them to come forward.
PC Simon Bolton from the Road Policing Unit said: “I would appeal to anybody that witnessed this collision or with any information that could assist the police to contact police.
I would also appeal directly for the driver of the car to come forward so we can establish the circumstances of exactly what has happened.”
Anyone with any information should call Lancashire Police on 101.
