YOUNGSTERS hosted a question-and-answer session with MP Jack Straw at St Barnabas’ and St Paul’s Junior School, in Blackburn.

All 28 children from class six were able to ask the Blackburn MP a question during the hour-long session, held in the hall, in front of the whole school.

The children, aged between seven and nine years old, asked Mr Straw about his education, family, and experiences of being an MP, as part of their ‘People Who Help Us’ topic.

The youngsters at the school, off Oakenhurst Road, found the visit by the public figure very enjoyable and will be writing a follow-up report about his visit.

education being what it is…this, no doubt would be an exercise in acknowledging our elders and betters, no mention of 'weapons of mass destruction' then or our esteemed columnist and ex mayor's role as his election agent?
personally (even as a politically active 7 year old) i'd have relished the oppurtunity to embarrass him!
