See fashion designs which impressed the Queen in Burnley

TOWNELEY Hall in Burnley will host a fashion show with a difference this weekend.

Eastern fashion design students from the University of Central Lancashire’s Burnley campus have already impressed the Queen with their display when she visited East Lancashire last month.

Now their creations will be on view to the from June 24 to July 4.

The students, the first cohort to complete the three-year flagship course, will showcase a variety of garments and textiles made for their degree show.

Course leader Amanda Odlin-Bates, said: “This course is totally unique.

We therefore felt it was important for us to have an end of year event as the work has been on exhibition at Graduate Fashion Week in London and the UCLan Creative Festival in Preston.

As the students are all from the East Lancashire region, we wanted local people to see what we do.

“What we actually do is take traditional techniques but push the ideas into new concepts.”
