Commendation for the Lancashire Telegraph in Online Media Awards

THE Lancashire Telegraph website, www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk, has received a commendation in the prestigious Online Media Awards.
The Telegraph was among 12 nominees for the Best Regional Newspaper Website category in the awards, presented at the Emirates Stadium in London last night.
Category winner was the Belfast Telegraph, with commendations going to the Lancashire Telegraph, Bristol24/7 and walesonline.co.uk
Also nominated in the website category were liverpoolecho.co.uk, southwalesargus.co.uk, thelincolnite.co.uk, thisiscornwall.co.uk, thebusinessdesk.com/yorkshire, Leedsstudent.org and the Manchester
Evening News site, menmedia.co.uk
Among the award judges was Paul Linford of regional media website and category sponsor HoldTheFrontPage.
He said: “This was an incredibly strong category and the number of nominees demonstrates the growing degree of creativity and innovation in regional digital journalism.”
Awards at the event covered a wide range of online media, including blogging and social media. The top prize of Website of the Year went to The Guardian.
