Why not engage with the EDL instead? These local indigenous people have legitimate concerns!.... The local EDL made posters and made speeches at the Blackburn demo, all ignored by the LET, instead the LET focused on a bit of trouble at the demo...I know a few Local EDL people and they are not going away,instead their support is growing fast. There will be more demos and protests in this town until their concerns are addressed in public fairly. I suspect as to why the LET ignore and demonise the EDL is to stop any reasonable debate.

They would have done well to sort out some of the problems years ago such as the grooming and rape of young white girls by Pakistani muslims. £200,000 for goodness sake we are in a situation where planned operations are cancelled because of lack of beds where families are about to be made homeless because of savage cuts and redundancies where kids with disabilities are being targeted to have funding taken away (tax credits) where bsf projects are going to lead directly to teachers loosing jobs and £200,000 to encourage people to play nicely together? Eric Pickles department needs to wake up and smell the coffee a few youth schemes here and there will do nothing to encourage people to talk to each other fiddling whilst Rome burns.

I don't see this happening in rural areas, Lake District, East Anglia, Mid Wales etc.

Plus we have a constitutional monarchy and parliament to stop this from happening.

In both communities there is a majority of good. hard-working, respectful, and responsible people whose only desire is to see their families prosper in a peaceful world and hope that our children can aspire to greater things than we did. In those same communities there are a minority of thugs, criminals, sex offenders, and anti-social youths who grab all of the headlines and detract from the prevailing harmony.
That said I personally believe integration will never happen in Blackburn or any similar town in the UK. Had it been achievable it would have occurred long ago. The indigenous community, and the community of Asian heritage have shown they prefer to live in their own enclaves surrounded by their own friends and families. No I do not believe that has been helpful and has allowed some ignorance and bigotry to remain despite the efforts of the education system to teach our children of the great harm caused by discrimination.
However, we are where we are and if integration is not to prevail, then tolerance and understanding must. I work alongside people of Asian heritage and see others in a sport and leisure setting. I do not judge any by the colour of their skin but by the quality of the person within. if we all based our judgement of people on those same parameters rather than on the brainwashing propaganda of the EDL/BNP, then the world would not only be a better place, it would be a happier one.

Muslim communities will never integrate with non Muslim communities purely because their beliefs are not shared. I.e. muslims are not permitted to drink. In both communities there is a majority of good. hard-working, respectful, and responsible people whose only desire is to see their families prosper in a peaceful world and hope that our children can aspire to greater things than we did. In those same communities there are a minority of thugs, criminals, sex offenders, and anti-social youths who grab all of the headlines and detract from the prevailing harmony.
That said I personally believe integration will never happen in Blackburn or any similar town in the UK. Had it been achievable it would have occurred long ago. The indigenous community, and the community of Asian heritage have shown they prefer to live in their own enclaves surrounded by their own friends and families. No I do not believe that has been helpful and has allowed some ignorance and bigotry to remain despite the efforts of the education system to teach our children of the great harm caused by discrimination.
However, we are where we are and if integration is not to prevail, then tolerance and understanding must. I work alongside people of Asian heritage and see others in a sport and leisure setting. I do not judge any by the colour of their skin but by the quality of the person within. if we all based our judgement of people on those same parameters rather than on the brainwashing propaganda of the EDL/BNP, then the world would not only be a better place, it would be a happier one.
I truly believe I speak for the vast majority of people in our local towns. Sadly they do not feel the need to put their head above the parapet in this forum and argue the toss with "Ignorant of Queen's Park," Racist of Lammack." and "Paranoid of Ewood."
