Did you say the same about the catholics when there was a IRA attack? Nope, I doubt it, so why are Muslims different? Because you want it that way so you can attack them.

Anyway if they did condemn actions, you'd put it down to media manipulation, if they don't you consider they are condoning it.

I actually find the EDL pretty funny. I mean what's the deal with them? What's their end-game? It just seems like an excuse to jump up and down in crap towns. There's something like 2 million Muslims out of a population of like 60 million, Islam will never take over Britain, Sharia Law will never supercede English Law, it's simple common sense. Protesting outside the Blackburn KFC was just ridiculous too, this would have been a business decision as KFC were trying to make more money and get a cut from the 25% Asian population in Blackburn, it's called capitalism, not stealth-jihad.

I personally see the EDL, Islamists and the UAF as shiny toys created to keep the great public distracted from talking about the real issues. There's things happening which are worth going to the streets for, we have massive youth unemployment, the injustice of these ConDem cuts, police numbers being cut, even our roads are mess, potholes everywhere.

The truth is the EDL and the BNP to a large extent are not right wing in anyway, they oppose capitalism, they oppose globalisation. Most of them look like a bunch of benefit spongers.

I have just had a look through the EDL website as well as the UAF's to try and get a feel for each groups position and I am not really much more the wiser for it and still despise both groups equally, with the EDL seeing radical Mulla's everywhere and likewise UAF seeing Hitler in every crowd.

Now, I do not doubt for one moment that there are elements within the EDL who are genuinely "racist" on whatever level - there is evidence to prove it. Conversely I am not entirely convinced that UAF is a wholly peaceful organisation either, given their track record.

I could not, for instance, see many of the EDL crowd at todays Blackburn event showing their solidarity with, lets say, the Salvation Army or Burnley Gay Pride. The UAF; if they were indeed united against fascism they would be better off protesting about our current governments, both here and in Europe. Without going in to the fullest depths of the varying meanings of fascism, there is an interesting quote thus:

The so called English Defence League (EDL) is based on hatred and bigotry.
They claim to be patriotic, but wave the flag of the terrorist state of Israel and don’t even know that the Patron Saint of England, Saint George, was a Palestinian.
The EDL alcohol fuelled thugs target towns with large Muslim and Asian populations in order to attempt to provoke the peaceful local communities into making a violent response.
However, the EDL are mostly unsuccessful and when their abusive moronic racist and Islamaphobic chants and threats are ignored they end up fighting each other and the police.
When their violence is responded to in self defence the EDL run away, like the cowards and football hooligans that they are, and seek the protection of the police.

Worldwide there are almost 1.6 billion Muslims, belonging to a variety of different sects.
There are more than 2 million Muslims in the UK.
The vast majority of them are hard working peace loving and tolerant people and it is unfair and ignorant to blame them for the crimes of a minority.

i watched the short coverage on the bbc and itv local, and feel sorry for them, as there was no real trouble for them to report on, but it did make me wonder why young asain men in the UAF camp felt the need to cover there faces if there was no trouble, then i read on the BBC news web site, that fireworks where thrown at the police IN the UAF camp.

All that has happened today is that public services, at times of extreme budget cuts, have had to spend hundred's of thousands of pounds in managing a racist bunch of thugs who are no longer allowed at football matches because they are all on banning orders to enter the town and spout their rubbish. People have lost their jobs and police officers are being pulled from the front line but we are forced into a situation were money is being spent on managing 'racism'. When the the white british vulnerable are no longer receiving services because we can't afford to provide them then maybe the people who think that it is ok to invade town centres affecting small businesses and costing the public hundreds of thousands of pounds may think again - not lilekly, because that would suggest that they actually have a brain!! I spent 14 years growing up in the streets of Derry. I was 7 years old when the Government decided to change the name Derry to Londonderry. You never witnessed the trouble this caused. At 9 years old I heard a dull sounding thud with a tinkling sound that made my ears ring, from just around the corner from where I was with my mother helping her do the shopping. This thud was a nail bomb exploding in a pub, the tinkling sound was the glass showering onto the street.
When me and my mother went around the corner to see what it was, my mother just said `oh God `and sat down on the pavement. I stood and looked at the scene, but did`nt understand what was happening. All i could see was people, some running around, some sitting down, and some lying down. I could also see what was a bloody mess of debris scattered everywhere.The smell was like soot from a chimney. It was all silent for quite some time, as everybody was in shock.
Then after a while the screams of pain started, people were crying and saying all sorts of things. I looked at a lady who was sitting on the kirb, her face was full of blood which was mingled with dust, and she was saying she had to get home to put the tea on, she kept repeating this over and over ("I have to get home to put the tea on, I have to get home to put the tea on"). The pub was totally wrecked, but funny enough the duke box started to play on its own. (Slade, Mama were all crazy nowm how ironic). It semmed like hours before the ringing bells of the Gards and police arrived. (Gards means Garda which is police from republic side of Ireland)(Derry is right on the border and was policed by both at the time).
So I would have to say I was a bit too young at the time to stand up to the IRA. And too young to understand the links to catholics you suggest.

I spent 14 years growing up in the streets of Derry. I was 7 years old when the Government decided to change the name Derry to Londonderry. You never witnessed the trouble this caused. At 9 years old I heard a dull sounding thud with a tinkling sound that made my ears ring, from just around the corner from where I was with my mother helping her do the shopping. This thud was a nail bomb exploding in a pub, the tinkling sound was the glass showering onto the street.
When me and my mother went around the corner to see what it was, my mother just said `oh God `and sat down on the pavement. I stood and looked at the scene, but did`nt understand what was happening. All i could see was people, some running around, some sitting down, and some lying down. I could also see what was a bloody mess of debris scattered everywhere.The smell was like soot from a chimney. It was all silent for quite some time, as everybody was in shock.
Then after a while the screams of pain started, people were crying and saying all sorts of things. I looked at a lady who was sitting on the kirb, her face was full of blood which was mingled with dust, and she was saying she had to get home to put the tea on, she kept repeating this over and over ("I have to get home to put the tea on, I have to get home to put the tea on"). The pub was totally wrecked, but funny enough the duke box started to play on its own. (Slade, Mama were all crazy nowm how ironic). It semmed like hours before the ringing bells of the Gards and police arrived. (Gards means Garda which is police from republic side of Ireland)(Derry is right on the border and was policed by both at the time).
So I would have to say I was a bit too young at the time to stand up to the IRA. And too young to understand the links to catholics you suggest.
But I will say that what I saw as a youngster growing up in a City torn apart by religion and politics, was not a thing that I would want my children and grandchildren to expirience.
Later in life I attended peace rallys in Larne(where my family moved to) and Belfast. These rallys were ordinery people standing against IRA, UDA, UDL, old uncle tom cobbley and all. Just as the EDL are doing now. It eventually worked for Ireland and the trouble stopped. So I hope this answered your question. Did you say the same about the catholics when there was a IRA attack?
I now live in Blackburn, I am an Irishman but I do not want to change England, I love England the way it is (English). I have many English friends who have made me very welcome here. My wife is Irish, but our children are 100% English, because we chose to settle here and accept the English way of doing things. I even wear an England football shirt when they play. The day seems to have gone well,the Police have done a good job with the exception of allowing four pubs to open,hence the arrest for drunk and disorderly,but no doubt lessons have been learned.

roverspal....you say one in four women get beat up in this country,i'd love to know what that figure is amongst the asian community.in this paper there are constantly stories of asian women being beaten by asian men and there just the ones that come forward.who knows how many black eyes and broken noses are under those veils they so willingly wear.i hate any sort of wifebeating but with the way your women are treated it seems you've got it down to a tee.

I AM NOT SAYING IT DOES NOT HAPPEN IN THE ASIAN MUSLIM COMMUNITY.. IT DOES, BUT AT A FAR SMALLER NUMBER THAN THE SO CALLED CIVILISED WEST..
