More stories about: Jack Straw
A SCHEME which is aimed at reducing reoffending rates for short-term prisoners in Britain’s jails has been launched by the Justice Secretary Jack Straw.
The six-year Social Impact Bond pilot scheme will begin in the summer .It will see around 3,000 short-term prisoners, serving less than 12 months, receiving ‘intensive interventions’ both in prison and in the community.
Jack Straw, Blackburn MP, said: “Reducing reoffending is one of the Government's highest priorities.
“Between 2000 and 2008, the frequency of adult reoffending fell by 15.9 per cent.
“But we are always looking at new ways of further reducing reoffending that provides value to the taxpayer.”

The only way to stop re-offending is to give them tough justice.
Prison should be prison and not a holiday camp with all mod-cons, access to Facebook, all the drugs they need etc. etc.
If they took all this away from them they would probably think twice about re-offending.

Jack, it always has been YOUR highest priority. That’s the reason it has never worked. Just give them an ASBO and have done with it!

Election time soon Jack. Better start covering your failings?
