POLICE and the fire service are investigating a car fire in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Firefighters were called to Tarbert Crescent, Shadsworth, in Blackburn, shortly before 4am.
A Mazda was ‘well alight’ with ‘flames coming out of the windows’ by the time they arrived.
The owner, a local man in his 40s, was at the scene.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said the car was destroyed.
“It could be deliberate or an electrical fault. Due to the lack of evidence there will be further investigations.
“There has been a spate of vehicle crimes on the street including cars being vandalised.
