A FRENCH teacher may have survived a horror crash on a danger road because she was driving a left-hand drive car.
But Nadine Merciere, aged 31, who lives in Blackburn, was left with serious injuries in the accident on a notorious stretch near Abbey Village.
She had to be cut from her red Renault Clio by firefighters and was last night recovering at Royal Blackburn Hospital.
It happened at 4.45pm on Friday as she returned from work in Bolton.
It is believed her car collided with a vehicle that had been overtaking a third.
A 36-year-old man from Blackburn was arrested on suspicion of drink or drug driving and failing to stop.
He was in police custody last night.
