Blackburn stolen goods on display

STOLEN property, including World War One medals, has been recovered by police investigating a string of burglaries.

Officers are trying to trace the owners of items such as British and American coins dating back to 1797.

They were discovered by officers investigating burglaries at houses, sheds and garages in the Preston Old Road and Feniscowles area of Blackburn.

Police believe the property could have been stolen as long ago as January 2007 and are appealing for the public’s help to identify some of the items.

Ornate silver trays, binoculars, tool boxes, power drills, electric sanders, mobile phones, portable DVD players and gardening equipment were also found and officers are keep to reunite the property with the owners.

PC Phill Needham, from Blackburn Target Team, said: “We need the public’s help to identify some of the more obscure items.
