Darwen dad's asylum seeker death crash fury

AN IRAQI illegal immigrant who killed a 12-year-old girl in a road crash has still not been deported five years on, it has emerged.

Proceedings began to kick Aso Mohammed Ibrahim out of the country as long as four years ago but immigration officials have admitted that he remained in Lancashire.

Paul Houston’s daughter Amy was killed when she was hit by a vehicle driven by Ibrahim in Blackburn in November 2003.

He had no licence or insurance and was jailed for four months.

The following year he was again caught driving while disqualified.

Bosses at the UK Border Agency said steps to deport Ibrahim had been “prolonged” but were ongoing.

The agency denied that the case had been mismanged.

Mr Houston, of Argle Street, Darwen, said: “It is an insult to Amy’s memory that he is still in the country.

“He says that it is not safe for him to return to Iraq but I have no concerns for his well being because he showed none for ours when he killed my daughter.

“The fact that he still has not been deported is a joke.

“I cannot move on with my life, even after all of this time, because of the fear that I will see him in the street.

"Enough is enough and he must be deported.”

In the past two years Ibrahim has got married to a Lancashire woman and has two children.

The Home Office has blocked his applications for citizenship because he is ineligible as a failed asylum seeker.

Speaking last year when the Border Agency said he was about to be deported, Ibrahim, who was living in Whalley Banks, Blackburn, at the time, said: “I did not expect to meet Christina or have any children when I came here seven years ago, but it has happened and I cannot leave them.

“I cannot go back to Iraq. Do you not watch the news? It is far too dangerous.”

A spokeswoman for the UK Border Agency said: “We seek to remove failed asylum seekers as quickly as possible.

“Time scales in individual circumstances can be prolonged by practical considerations such as the need to obtain travel documents, but the UK has established safe routes and re-documentation arrangements with a significant number of countries and we are working ever more closely with governments around the world to facilitate removals at the earliest possible opportunity.”

Darwen MP Janet Anderson has been involved in fighting for Ibrahim’s expulsion from the country.

Ibrahim is a Kurdish Iraqi and Mrs Anderson believes he would be safe in northern Iraq.

UK Border Agency, they are pathetic, and if he can't leave his wife and 2 children take them with him, or would that be against there Human Rights,and there would be no free hand outs there, l take it he his not supposed to work in the UK

Its simple really - go round to his taxpayer funded house and get a grip of him - escort him to an airport and deposit him on a plane.
This should have been done the moment the waste of oxygen stepped out of the prison gates.

My sympathies are with Paul (Amys)Dad and family,when are our laws going to protect the innocent people of our country,no feelings from our Government whatsoever who are using every excuse to prolong the chance for the Bereaved to try and move forward.

My condolences to the Houston family.

Whether or not he is safe in Iraq or not, it is where he was born and bred and where he should be sent back to.

If the immigration office have a problem sending him out of the country, I will pay for his plane ticket to get the hell out!!

Jimmy Patterson, i agree with you on your comment, it is very convenient, that he got married to a UK passport holder.

Joe Smith, you are right too, he should take his wife and kids with him to Iraq and settle there if he cant leave them here.

Mr Houston , you have my total sympathy ,your pain is unimaginable ,but please don't torture yourself by banking on this vermin being deported by this sham Labour lot who care more for illegal/legal immigrants than us,look at the afghan hijackers,they have never been deported ,the scum killer of the headmaster philip lawrence is now out & free.People like yourself & Michael shields's family simply do not interest Straw,Brown,Blears & the rest of this joke of a goverment.Bring back the death penalty,then at least there is no chance of committing further atrocities !

Why does the Border Agency worry about "established safe routes and re-documentation"? There are no doubt a number of British forces planes going to Iraq regularly, why not put the waste of space on one of these and dump him back where he belongs. No documentation required.

We all know it is a marriage of convenience. What says he is not married in Iraq. That's why he can't go back. Why does he need papers to be deported? He didn't need them to get in the country. Why does it have to be a safe passage? There are flights to Iraq now otherwise how are others getting in there. Get a grip Straw and sort this out.

I blame the British legal system, and greedy solicitors who make the big bucks from legal aid - (paid for by guess who!)to represent these people and drag cases on and on and on, through the appeal procedure in the courts. There should be NO right of appeal once a decision has been made. The deportation order should be acted upon immediately!

The law on death by dangerous driving needs to be re looked at ASAP.
There are far too many cases where individuals cause death by dangerous driving and get scot free.
This person got only four months and is now wondering the streets.
My sympathy to her family.

I agree with the above readers that Ibrahim should have been deported by now but it is the sorry state of the British legal system that he is still here and as we know unfortunatley will remain until authority removes him.

Let us get to grips with this. The Home Office and the UK Border Agency are clearly not up to the job of removing "illegals". Just take a look at the facts to see how few people are removed each year. More people are prosecuted for benefit fraud than are removed from the country.
People need to petition their MP's to bring about a change in the law so that once an "illegal" is caught within 12 hours they are put on plane to their country of origin.
As for "RAyzer" he does not seem very bright and does not have useful contributions to make.
The only stories attracting him and his"mates" are those with "immigrants", "pakistanis", "muslims".
Wonder why that is the case?
Him and his "mates"(probably the same man, who is idle and living off the state) are clearly NOT authorities on any of these subjects as can be judged by the content of their contributions.
Long may the SWP reign and bring justice to this green and pleasant land which has always welcomed people of faiths and races over the last 11 centuries.

"Akon" and his "mates" have clearly been keeping up to speed and making authoratative comments on their speciality subjects of "immigrants", "Pakistanis", "Muslims" Whilst due to an unfortunate o/d I have been unable to react to such baseless and nasty comments.
Stick to the facts and love all people as i Know that "Akon and his mates" really do.
I have heard the comments on the grapevine too that apparently the real "akon" is a muslim.
We learn something new everyday.

person would have sympathy for the ordeal of the parents. labour are not liars but have not implemented a good system.
