Brierfield pervert DJ told ‘jail unlikely’

4:12pm Thursday 3rd July 2008

A BROADCASTER who secretly and indecently filmed a girl at her school is likely to receive a community punish-ment, a judge said.

Sentencing for David Blaxhall, 49, was adjourned at court yesterday so his suitability for receiving a community penalty could be investigated.

Blaxhall, of Longridge Heath, Brierfield, pointed his camera under a girl’s desk at a Blackburn school, in July 2006.

He has also admitted a number of charges relating to pornographic images of children found on a computer.

Blaxhall had been running The Radio Surgery, a Brierfield company specialising in training schools and colleges in the art of broadcasting, and had worked at schools across the area in the last few years.

Judge Anthony Russell QC said the offence at the Blackburn school was a “terrible breach of trust”.
