MUMS who took part in a national research study were honoured at an awards ceremony.

The group of mums participated in the project which looked at a rise in postnatal low mood and stress among Asian women.

Participants in the national study called ROSHNI-2 were awarded certificates at the awards ceremony on January 26 at Higher Croft Children’s Centre in Blackburn.

The certificates were presented to the women by Cllr Mohammed Khan, leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council.

The innovative research study is led by Lancashire Care Foundation Trust

Professor Nusrat Husain, honorary consultant psychiatrist at Lancashire Care, who is leading on the study, said: “I am very grateful for the mothers who are supporting this piece of research into the British South Asian population."

Cllr Khan said: “I was delighted to attend this celebration event to hand out certificates."
