BLACKBURN has been revealed as the ‘hangriest’ town in the North West.
Research by Lancashire bakers Holland’s Pies found that 96 per cent of people surveyed in Blackburn had experienced ‘hanger’, and that most January diets will fail today at 11am thanks to ‘extreme hanger’, a state of ‘hungry-anger’ caused by a lack of food.
Symptoms of ‘hanger’ can include throwing or hitting something, getting snappy and crying.
Leanne Holcroft, brand manager at Holland’s Pies, said: “There’s nothing wrong with going on a diet.
“But when it makes almost the entire North West population cry and hit things, then we need to remedy it.”
