A DRIVER had a remarkable escape after a car left a busy road and ploughed into a house.
Police said the incident was reported just before 12.30pm after a white Nissan Micra drove into a house off Preston Old Road, Blackburn.
Police and one ambulance attended the scene where a female casualty was treated for a wrist injury.
The car was heading towards Blackburn when it left Preston Old Road at a slight bend between Tower Road and Billinge View in Cherry Tree.
It hit a chevron sign and then careered over grass between a lamppost and trees, down a drive and into a front door.
Remarkably, the only damage to the house in Billinge View was a broken panel in the front door.
Debris was visible on the grass just off the road this afternoon, as were clear tyre tracks.
People at the house and a neighbour declined to comment. Nobody else was hurt.
