A CHARITY is calling on people to take part in its annual 5K fun run in a bid to top last year's fundraising total of £8,000.

Lancashire Mind's Mental Elf run will take place on Sunday, December 3 in Witton Park, Blackburn.

The charity is appealing for people of all levels of fitness to take part to help boost their own wellbeing as well as helping other people across Lancashire.

Staff are hoping to raise £10,000 to help support people with mental health conditions and to provide people with the tools they need to improve, manage and maintain their own mental wellbeing.

Registration is open now with an 'eager elf' discount of £12.50 per adult and £7.50 per child until the end of October. After that, entry costs £15 per adult and £10 per child.

Fabienne Clough, Lancashire Mind fundraising coordinator, said: "It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned runner or prefer a stroll in the park, the event is for everyone. However you make your way across the finish line we really appreciate your help in raising vital funds that allow us to continue doing what we do."

There will also be a Festive Market Place. Businesses and craftspeople looking to hire a stall for £20 should contact fabienneclough@lancashiremind.org.uk.
