AN investigation was said to be 'ongoing' after a man was stabbed in the neck.

Detectives investigating the stabbing of a man in his early 20s near to the Brunch cafe in New Chapel Street, Blackburn urged anyone with information to come forward.

Officers said the victim, who was stabbed 'several times' remained in a stable condition at the Royal Preston Hospital.

Eyewitnesses said the man was stabbed three times in the neck after a high-speed car chase at around 11.25am on Sunday.

A police spokesman said: "An investigation is underway and enquiries are ongoing.

Officers attended and a man, believed to be in his 20s, was found at the scene with several stab wounds.

"He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment and is currently in a stable condition.

"This is believed to be an isolated attack with the victim known to the offenders.

"Anyone with information should call us on 101 quoting log reference 0603 of October 1."
