A FUNDRAISER was held recently to raise money for a charity that supports newly bereaved parents.
The charity soul night was held at Hollins Grove Conservative club in Blackburn Road.
Over £1,800 was raised for charity Friends of Serenity and a crowd of 150 people attended the event.
Friends of Serenity aims to preserve and protect the health of sick pregnant woman and those who have suffered a miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal death.
It aims to provide and assist in the provision of facilities, serenity suites and equipment at East Lancashire Women and New Born Centre, not normally provided by the statutory authorities.
Des Jones, the DJ for the evening, said: "I wish to give special thanks to my wife Beverley and Matt and Jennifer Sharples who put a tremendous amount of effort into the evening.
"There were some fantastic donations and over 40 raffle prizes."
