A BUS crashed into part of a shopping centre building this afternoon.

The crash involving the 152 service bus to Burnley, saw the vehicle collide into the edge of the Mall building in Blackburn.

The incident saw panelling on the wall of the building dislodged and later glass fell out of window on the double decker bus.

An eyewitness said the bus clipped the corner of the overhang of the building near the roadworks.

They said the 'driver has to come in at an odd angle' after a van was parked on double yellow lines further up the street.

Officers were called to the incident at around 2.30pm and taped off part of Higher Church Street, before the road was fully re-opened at around 3.40pm.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 2.29pm to an incident involving a single bus which collided near Debenhams in Higher Church Street, Blackburn.

"The bus went into the edge of the Mall and has dislodged some metal panelling from the wall.

"Part of the road at Higher Church Street was taped off but re-opened at around 3.40pm."

No injuries were reported.
