BLACKBURN has got a new interactive billboard offerings prime digital advertising space at a key road junction near the town centre.

The state-of-the-art, 18 square metre digital screen offers local businesses and national brands prime advertising space in a busy spot.

The screen, put up by Blackburn with Darwen Council, will support borough businesses and boost the growth and regeneration.

Money raised from renting it will be put back into supporting frontline services in the Council.

Located on Blackburn’s Barbara Castle Way at the Larkhill Interchange, thw permanent advertising structure will be seen by an audience of more than 600,000 every fortnight and is the first step in the council’s digitisation agenda for the region.

Cllr Phil Riley, Council regeneration boss, said: “This new installation marks an exciting time for Blackburn as we invest in the latest technology for our town.

“This is a modern way to advertise and takes us closer to the advertising you see in cities

“What is great is that we can provide a space for local arts and cultural events which also support local groups and people. It is a fantastic way to highlight what is going on all over the borough.”

The digital contract was awarded to NowSignage, an innovative Manchester-based digital signage business whose software platform will remotely schedule and maintain all advertising activity, after a tendering process.

For this project NowSignage partnered with Smart LED, a leading UK outdoor screen provider to deliver the first of many projects .
