DEGREE students angry at delays to their final grades have been told they may have to wait another two weeks.

Some 800 students at University Centre Blackburn College are thought to be still awaiting final results.

They were first told to expect final results on July 7 but now are likely to have to wait into August, a delay of almost a month.

In an email signed by the University Centre team and sent on Friday, the college apologises for the delay.

The email said: “I am pleased to inform you that we have an expected date for the board, which we anticipate taking place within two weeks.”

However, no date is specified in the email, which goes on to address arrangements for reassessment, if necessary.

The email continued: “I apologise again for the delay and thank you once again for your patience with this matter.”

Rebecca Gerrard, who has completed an education studies course, is desperate to learn her final classification.

She said: “Earlier this year I handed in my notice as a teaching assistant and completed my last day last week as I had the view of starting my PGCE in September.

“At this rate I will lose my place on the course and will be left unemployed because of this delay.”

Blackburn College declined to comment.
