VOLUNTEERS at Church and Oswaldtwistle Rotary Club have donated money in memory of a young man killed by a single punch.
President Jim Hargreaves handed a cheque for £500 to Pat and Dave Rogers, of Adam Rogers, who died in 2008 age 24.
He was killed by a single punch while acting as peacemaker and trying to break up a fight in Blackburn.
Now his parents use his story to challenge the casual attitudes to violence and ‘binge’ drinking by setting up a charity.
The money will be used for education packs to be used by schools, prisons, youth offending teams and others.
Mr Hargreaves said: “I am more than pleased to make this award to this very worthwhile charity ’Every Action Has Consequences’.
"The parents of Adam have my deepest admiration in the manner they are conveying the message to all the organisations that."
The Rogers family are being supported by Lancashire Police and other agencies.
