MUSIC filled a Blackburn Primary School as they prepared to publish their very own CD.

Pupils at The Redeemer C of E Primary School, in Jack Walker Way, were in full voice at the special concert staged for parents.

The successful concert was staged with the help of PopUK, musicians who tour the country delivering a set of catchy, current-sounding pop songs.

Earlier in the week, the pupils learned new songs with PopUK, which they have recorded for the CD and will soon be available to parents.

The hour-long concert yesterday afternoon was organised by Anne-Marie Moran, a teacher at the school.

The school's co-operation with PopUK was part of its multi-faith week.

Andy Silver, founder and director of PopUK, said the concert featured about 400 children, with more than 300 parents also taking part.

He said: “It was a particular success. The concert involved the entire school and the staff even recorded a track for the CD. It’s a great community initiative.”
