BLACKBURN Cathedral will host a concert by a 70-strong youth choir from the German city of Braunchweig on Saturday.
The concert at 7.30pm will feature choral music by English and German composers
The Blackburn Diocese has for many years enjoyed links with the Diocese of Braunschweig near Hanover and its Cathedral.
Cathedral director of music Samuel Hudson said: “We are pleased to welcome the Youth Choir of Braunschweig Cathedral, with their Director of Music Gerd-Peter Münden, who will be singing at Blackburn Cathedral as part of their busy itinerary while they are in the area.”
Entry to the concert is free, with a retiring collection being taken to support the work of the German choir and Blackburn Cathedral.
The Braunchweig Choir will give a further concert at Holy Trinity Church, Blackpool on Monday.
