A COMMUNITY 5K run has been organised in memory of the Manchester terror attacks.

The run was due to be a celebration to mark the end of a month-long challenge which saw Blackburn Road runners pledge to run or walk three miles a day throughout.

However the club decided to open it up to all walkers and runners following the terrorist attack at the Manchester Arena last Monday.

Susan Wolstenholme, chairman of the group, said: “As a club we are so saddened by what happened.

“We would like to show our solidarity with those affected, especially the local family.

“Blackburn runners are well known for showing support and unity. Everybody is welcome.”

The event will take place at Witton Park, tomorrow at 7pm.
