ELTON John's Ewood Park concert is set to go ahead next month subject to a security review.

Sources said there were no plans to cancel the Saturday, June 10 gig at the home of Blackburn Rovers, despite Monday night's terrorist bomb attack on Manchester Arena.

But before the superstar's 'Wonderful, Crazy Night' concert is confirmed, organisers said a full review of security will have to take place.

A Blackburn Rovers spokesman said: "We are aware of the tragic events that occurred in Manchester and will be consulting with the event promoters and other partners as part of the preparations for the Elton John concert at Ewood Park."

Meanwhile the Manchester Arena remains closed for police investigations.

Take That have postponed their home town shows at the venue for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Events at King George's Hall and other civic venues in Blackburn with Darwen will go ahead as planned.
