THE North West Air Ambulance took a child to Alder Hey Hospital earlier this morning.
It is believed the child was brought via ambulance from a private address and taken to the helicopter.
A spokesman from the North West Air Ambulance said: "We attended Royal Blackburn Hospital to take a child who had suffered a trauma and took them to Alder Hey Hospital."

Meanwhile, police said they were not dealing with any incidents as two helicopters were seen flying around Blackburn this morning.
Sirens could be heard in the town centre.
A police spokesman said: "There is no emergency call out and you can only assume that they were doing something mundane such as mapping of the area."
