A 25-YEAR-OLD Blackburn man assaulted his sister when she advised their mum not to lend him any money.

And when the mother got between the battling siblings she was also assaulted by Mohammed Karbhari.

Karbhari, of Romney Walk, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting his mum and his sister and damaging a mirror belonging to his mum. He was remanded by magistrates on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report

Enza Geldard, prosecuting, said Karbhari had come home from work at about 5.15 pm and asked him mum to lend him £30.

She said she was not happy lending him money because he already owed her some.

He then overheard his sister saying their mum should not lend him any because she would not get it back.

"The defendant and his sister started fighting on the landing and he punched her several times on the head and shoulder," said Mrs Geldard.

"When his mother intervened she was pushed causing her to fall backwards. As he went downstairs Karbhari punched a mirror, causing it to smash and causing a cut to his hand which required hospital treatment."

When he was interviewed by police Karbhari said he didn't see why his sister felt the need to 'butt in' and he became angry. He said it was either smash the mirror or smash his sister's face in.
