A TEENAGER who repeatedly offended despite being subject to two suspended prison sentences has been jailed for 40 weeks.

Blackburn magistrates heard Kelvin Stevens had taken police on a drive round to establish the offence he had committed during a 'spree' of burglaries at commercial properties.

Stephens, 18, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to burglary at Ibby's on Bank Top and theft of cash and two tablets worth £750 and burglary at Dot Com Barbers, Whalley Banks and theft of cash and other property worth £710. He asked for 12 other similar offences to be taken into consideration.

Gareth Price, defending, said his client was realistic about the sentence that was going to be passed on him.

"It is to his credit that he took the police and showed them where he had committed offences," said Mr Price."On his release he hopes to relocate to the Leeds area and get away from the negative influences he has in Blackburn."
