A WOMAN has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 29 months after admitting to drink-driving.
Magistrates heard how Wendy Catherine Metcalfe Warburton, 52, was nearly four times over the legal limit when she was stopped by police in a Hyundai i20 in Whalley New Road, Blackburn, on March 25.
The court heard how Metcalfe Warburton, of Lammack Road, Blackburn, had 127 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when she was breathalysed. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
Metcalfe Warburton also admitted to failing to surrender to custody at Blackburn Magistrates Court on April 13 when she appeared before Preston magistrates.

For the drink-driving offence she was given an eight week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to complete a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement. She was also told to pay a £115 victim surcharge and £85 cots.
There was no separate penalty for the failure to surrender charge.
