THREE blocks of boarded-up terraced houses in Blackburn, which formed the backdrop for an award-winning film, will not be bulldozed yet.
Parts of the cleared Griffin estate doubled for 1970s Belfast in Aaron Dunleavy’s short piece Throw Me To The Dogs in 2015.
And the area is a key regeneration target by the borough council, with more than 200 homes suggested for clearance areas.
But a bid to pull down two blocks in Hancock Street and another in nearby Stansfield Street have been rejected by the authority’s development control officials.
Property agents have been told to come back with a revised demolition scheme.
