YOUNGSTERS showcased their ‘keepie-uppie’ skills to Blackburn Rovers stars yesterday.

Scores of children lined up at the club shop to kick the ball into the air as many times as they could without it touching the ground.

Strikers Lucas Joao and Marvin Emnes were on hand to have their pictures taken and take part in the fun.

Rebecca Hugill, 11, from Harrogate, won the under 11 category with more than 500 keepie ups.

Finley Wilson, 12, from Lostock Hall, won the 12 to17 age category with 54 keepie ups.

Both have taken home a junior Blackburn Rovers season ticket.

She said: “I practice a lot each day. I’m so happy I did so many, I lost count by the end.”

Rovers fan Reece Linklater, nine, who plays football for Great Harwood Rovers, said he really enjoyed taking part.

He said: “It was so much fun playing keepie ups."
