TEENAGERS who left a car on its roof after driving through playing fields have been branded 'reckless' and 'irresponsible'.

Police are hunting three teenagers in connection with the incident which happened in Pleasington Playing Fields in Blackburn at around 6.25pm on Sunday.

Officers said they had initially been called to the area off Tower Road amid reports a dirt bike was being driven 'anti-socially'.

When they arrived they found a 4x4 vehicle on its roof and three teenagers running off towards Pleasington Crematorium. It is thought the teenagers smashed through a window to get out of the car.

No arrests have been made and no suspect descriptions have been released by police.

Cllr Damian Talbott, Blackburn with Darwen’s executive member for the leisure, culture and young people, said: “This is despicable, reckless and irresponsible behaviour that could have caused serious injury.

"It has also damaged a an important area of sport usage within the Pleasington Playing Fields which are well-used.

"We can ill afford to have pitches out of use because of people behaving in this anti-social way.”
