DRIVERS travelling in and out of Blackburn along Preston New Road faced long traffic tailbacks and delays as BT continue network improvements this morning.
At 8.30am there were tailbacks to the A59 stretching to the M6 at junction 31 with problems made worse by a wheelbarrow, which is believed to have fallen off a vehicle on the southbound exit slip road of the motorway, on one of the lanes, hampering traffic.

The road is reduced to one lane as temporary traffic lights are stationed outside the KFC branch leading to traffic issues, particularly at peak times.
The work is to update the broadband network in the Ribble Valley by BT Openreach.
