FIREFIGHTERS were called to save a cat that was stuck on a roof for several hours in Blackburn.
Just before 1.40pm a crew from the town was called to Meadowfields after a resident had spotted cat on the roof.

A fire service spokesman said: “We were notified that a young cat was trapped on the roof for more than five hours and looked like it was dying.
“One engine and a team were called, a ladder was pitched and we brought the cat down safely.
“It is unclear whether the cat was taken to a vets or given back to its owner.”
