A BLACKBURN Rovers fan who was killed in a workplace accident will have an appropriate send off thanks to the club.

Jonathan Peden, 33, from Northern Ireland was killed on Thursday, just four weeks after marrying 'the love of his life' Roisin.

The 33-year-old, who lived in Belfast, died at Little Electrical Engineering in Lurgan.

He was a passionate and longstanding Rovers fan, travelling to Ewood Park several times a season with other members of the Northern Ireland Blackburn Rovers Supporters' Association.

Fellow Northern Ireland based Rovers fan and close friend Russell Adams, a season ticket holder at the club paid tribute to an 'outstanding, kind and loving' man.

He has arranged with the club to rush over a personalised new first team shirt, in which he will dressed on Monday.

He said: "Rovers meant the world to him, they were his sporting passion and a big part of his life.

"We'd fly to Liverpool from Belfast, share a taxi with other fans and stay in the rooms at the Fernhurst pub.

"The pub was designated for away supporters for a long time so we'd run the gauntlet, in alight hearted way with the opposition fans on our way to the game.

"The tears have flowed since I heard about his death. He was an amazing friend who had just married.

"He and Roisin had found the love of their lives and everything for him was positive. He was happy.

"He was a fellow who would do anything for anyone.

"We would always thoroughly enjoy our trips to Blackburn and both of us have made many friends before during and after games.

"His favourite player when he played here was Ryan Nelson."

Mr Peden's funeral is on Monday and Russell, with his family's blessing was determined that he would be buried in the club's freshly released kit.

He was prepared to fly to the mainland to get a jersey but after tweeting Rovers they immediately agreed to dispatch a personalised shirt with his name and number one printed on for overnight delivery which is expected to arrive today (Saturday).

A spokesman for Blackburn Rovers, said: "All at the club are deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden and untimely death of Jonathan.

"He made frequent visits to our games and was widely known among our fans and by staff at the club.

"When Russell contacted us about sending a shirt it was the very least we could do for Jonathan's family and friends."
