A MAN concocted an elaborate plan to get a day off work by claiming he was kidnapped.
British Transport Police’s Lancashire team said they were called to reports of a possible kidnap in Blackburn, but the man was found at his Bolton home.
He was given a £90 penalty notice for wasting police time.

A spokeswoman for BTP said: “We received a report of a possible kidnap in Blackburn at 2.10pm yesterday.
“Officers investigated fully and it was quickly established that the person was not missing.
“A man has been given a £90 penalty notice for wasting police time.”

The force revealed on Twitter that the man had “just wanted a day off work”.
They tweeted: “Male said he'd been kidnapped at #Blackburn. Located at home in #Bolton. Just wanted day off work! £90 Penalty issued, Wasting Police Time.”
