The event saw around 200 people pack in to Cherry Tree Cricket Club in Blackburn where men and women had their head shaved to support the Feniscowles Primary School pupil, who is currently undergoing radiotherapy in his battle with stage four high-risk neuroblastoma.

He currently has four more rounds of radiotherapy remaining, but in case he relapses, the youngster’s family are aiming to raise £250,000 for the potentially life-saving Difluoromethylornithine (DFO) clinical trial, not available on the NHS, in America.

As well as the head shaving, Go Bald For Theo, which was held over the weekend, had Pop up Princess entertainment for children, facepainting, a kid’s buffet and a hog roast for adults and a craft stall. A brand new £10,000 Peugeot 108 was also raffled off.

Theo’s grandad Graham Jordan said: “It was a fantastic day. It was a great atmosphere and it was good because both women and men were doing the head shave.

“The response was phenomenal. People who don’t even know Theo came along and took part which was humbling. It’s special when family and friends do it but when people who have never met Theo do something which changes their appearance it leaves you feeling really emotional.

“Theo really enjoyed it as well. He was mixing with his friends and he had a really good time.”

Mr Jordan said: “I would like to thank Cherry Tree Cricket Club for the use of their function room, the hairdressers who gave up their time – Carrie-Ann, Nicki and Jayne – everyone who sold tickets and everyone who contributed.

“A special mention as well to Janet Lee for her continued support.”
