WAYNE Lee, 52, of Higson Street, Blackburn, was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £165 in charges when he appeared before town magistrates and pleaded guilty to stealing meat worth £88 from Morrisons.
Deborah Morgan, defending, said Lee had got into financial difficulties and an acquaintance had offered him £40 to steal the meat.
