A SECTION of Livesey Branch Road, in Blackburn, will be closed for a week because of damage caused by heavy rainfall.
The affected section, between Parklands Way and Heys Lane, was shut to vehicle traffic yesterday lunchtime after the scale of harm to the surface caused by the downpour on Wednesday night became clear.

It could remain closed for up to seven days for investigation, repair and resurfacing work.
Engineers discovered extensive damage to the road surface caused by water penetration from the deluge and further problems with foundations created by flooding.
