MONDAY morning commuters were left frustrated after a signalling failure at Huncoat caused delays.
Travellers told the Lancashire Telegraph that the lights were stuck on red and they were left waiting on the tracks for around 40 minutes.
Northern Rail confirmed that the problem was reported at 10.15am, claiming it caused delays of up to 30 minutes.
Network Rail engineers were dispatched to the scene to repair the problem.
They said the line was running normally by 11am, causing one cancellation and one part-cancellation.
The signals affect the line between Leeds and Blackpool, providing many commuters with transport from Colne and Burnley into Blackburn, and many then onto the central Manchester stations.
